We Are Bear Aware - Our Promise to the Bears

Did you know that 95% of bear complaints arise in the residential areas of our communities?

We are launching a campaign to encourage B.C. residents to become "BEAR AWARE".

Since most B.C. communities are located in prime bear country, community members come into frequent contact with bears causing concern for both the safety of people and bears.

Proper management of garbage and other non-natural attractants is key to reducing human-bear conflict situations. Community involvement is integral to a successful long-term bear management plan.

We want YOU to be part of the solution. Please do your part to help!

By filling out the checklist and abiding by the "BEAR AWARE" practices laid out in the checklist, you will be recognized as being devoted to protecting our bear population.

Send your completed checklist to GBS:

P.O. Box 502, Whistler, BC V0N 1B0
email: info@bearsmart.com

Upon receipt of your completed checklist you will be sent a "WE ARE BEAR AWARE" sticker that you may proudly display at your home.
